The Piet Zwart Institute, which hosts four Master programs of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is hiring a part-time course coordinator to cover a six-month maternity leave.
The course coordinator is proficient in Dutch and English, and provides key administrative and operational support to the Master program to which they are assigned. Multi-tasking and problem solving are standard features of this role. You’ll be working on two locations (Willem de Kooning Academy and the Fine Art campus at Karel Doormanhof). Occasionally we will ask you to be flexible in your working hours, due to project requirements.
You will be the first point of contact for inquiries from current, past and potential students, as well as staff. You’ll provide information, advice, and be able to use your initiative and creativity to resolve issues with colleagues and students as they arise. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, databases and data entry, strong communication and correspondence skills are essential. Ideally, you’ll also be knowledgeable about Dutch and European higher education and enthusiastic about contemporary art and design.
This is a polyvalent role, but key duties include: developing and maintaining the academic schedule, supporting the course director in all aspects of the day to day administration of the Master, liaising with the teaching staff and students, administrative and academic record-keeping, assisting with student admissions, collaborating with support staff across the Willem de Kooning Academy, insuring procedures and guidelines are followed, and providing assistance in Master event coordination, publicity, and presence (Open Day/Open Studios, guest lectures, student-led projects and exhibitions, etc.).
