Daniel Giles is an American artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an MFA from Northwestern University, and attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. From 2014 – 2019 he was lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and from 2017 – 2019 he was Academic Director at Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency in Saugatuck, Michigan. His work has been exhibited, performed, and screened at venues including The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, El Museo Tamayo, Mexico City, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and Tufts University Art Galleries, Medford, MA. Giles is a 2022 grantee of the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts research and development grant.
