Next Habitat is a Thematic Design Project with public exhibition, made by international designers at the Master Interior Architecture & Retail Design [MIARD] programme at the Piet Zwart Institute. The project was shown during Milan Design Week 2015, in Ventura-Lambrate.

Next Habitat is currently invited to be part of Brazil’s CasaCor 2015, Rio de Janeiro.

In 2015, Gisele Taranto Architecture has partnered with LZ Studio to create a laboratory of ideas – LAB LZ by GT. The intent of this lab is to get people out of their comfort zone and spur them to think and participate.

As in any process of creating, the questioning is necessary. The idea is that this LAB is a place to hold meetings and talks with various areas of professionals. Participants may be actual or virtual and may be in Brazil or other countries.

The Piet Zwart Institute, from the Netherlands, will digitally show the Next Habitat project, which was in this year’s Milan Design Week, in Ventura-Lambrate.

The videos show research and projects from Brazilian and foreigner Universities, as well as detailed explanations from the artists themselves, regarding the art pieces displayed in the space.

Next Habitat reflects on a possible future. MIARD designers’ present their visions of habitation, holistic systems and artifacts. Collectively, the projects form a speculative scenario for living, addressing issues such as our relationship with time, information, energy, life and the environment.
