Frans-Willem Korsten is lector at the Piet Zwart Institute, holds the endowed chair ‘Literature and society’ at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication and is associate professor at the department Film- en Literary Sudies at LUCAS: the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society. He was a three time nominee for best teacher of the University Leiden and nominee for best national supervisor in 2014. He is member of the board of Wetenschapsoriëntatie Nederland, an academy concerned with the scholarly and scientific quality of higher education (the Academy for Dutch Scientific Orientation). He edited several special issues of journals and published widely on the period of the Baroque and issues of capitalism, law and justice. He was chair of the section Letters of the Dutch Council of Culture and was member of other advisory committees. He was responsible for the NWO internationalization program ‘Precarity and Post-Autonomia: The Global Heritage’, working together with Joost de Bloois (University of Amsterdam). Frans-Willem Korsten is the tutor of the Seminar Critical Pedagogy.
