Vivian Sky Rehberg is a Senior Research Lecturer at the Willem de Kooning Academy-Piet Zwart Institute. She has a PhD in art history (modern and contemporary art and theory) and brings over two decades of international teaching, leadership, and published writing on art and its contexts to her current role. 

Her current research project, “Neuroinclusivity in the Visual Arts Sector,” is a collaborative initiative hosted by the WdKA Research Centre with Stichting Mama and the Neurodiversity Foundation, funded by Regieorgaan SIA and Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie. This work builds on her earlier participation in the WdKA Research Centre’s “Promiscuous Care” research project (2021-2024) and the publication Promiscuous Care Infrastructures: Practicing Care (2024), to which she contributed the essay “Against Alienation: Academy/Asylum.” She co-convenes “Research in Perspective,” an academy-wide forum for students and staff to share research. 

Vivian mentors students of Master Lens-based Media and of the WdKA BA on artistic research and writing and co-supervises MA and BA graduation research papers. She also shares responsibility for Lens-Based Media first-year provision: “Short Projects to Support Self-Directed Research.”
