Facing the challenges of the present, creativity can be a positive force, producing clarity amongst modernity’s storm. How emerging artists respond is of paramount importance, acting as a cultural lighthouse on the shores of our hopeful futures. Documenting, dissecting and gluing life back together in the form of inspiring, thought-provoking films is our way of navigating the turbulent waters of today. Sacrificing – curing – cleansing. MIASMA.

Following the success of our first MIASMA screening during the International Film Festival Rotterdam, we are ready for the second round. Taking to the streets of London, we will screen a selection of works by master’s students from Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam (Lens Based Media, Experimental Publishing, Fine Arts, Interior Architecture: Research + Design, Education in Arts) and Moving Image from Royal College of Art, London. MIASMA II will feature a diverse range of works – from documentation, docu-fiction, performances to experimental films and animation – all responding to a unique slice of today’s chaotic reality.
