Hogeschool Rotterdam Willem de Kooning Academie

Applications 2021 – 2022

It is not longer possible to apply for the Academic year 2021-2022

The Master of Education in Arts reviews applications, plan interviews, and accepts candidates on a rolling basis from January to April 2021, until all positions in the cohorts are filled. Although application deadlines are set to structure the application procedure, we also review applications before and in-between the two deadlines. In general we encourage students to apply early.

For the motivation letter we ask students to motivate their choice of preference for this particular program, what they expect from it, how it relates to their current teaching and artistic/professional practice and what they would like to focus on within the two-year course (focus of interest, research thematic). For the CV, and particularly also in the portfolio, we ask candidates to always give an impression/overview of their prior experience in education or experimental pedagogical practice (next to a possible artistic or design portfolio). We advise to select a few projects which represents your current position as practitioner/educator/pedagogue the best. Once a committee has reviewed a completed application and it meets with the basic requirements of application, you will be invited for an interview. This is not a formal procedure but meant as an open conversation in depth to mutually exchange views about whether an applicant fits the course and we are able offer the students what they are searching for. We strive to be open, inviting and welcoming to everyone.

Application deadlines:

March 15, 2021: Priority deadline for completed applications of Dutch, EU applicants.

April 29, 2021: Final deadline for completed applications of Dutch and EU applicants.

Start of the academic year
The official academic year 2021/22 will start on September 1 2021.

Which students are able to apply?
Since it’s a part-time program, it is not possible for non-EU applicants to obtain a study visa for this master program. For this reason, the Master Education in Arts cannot accept non-EU applicants, unless they have an EU passport, or are residents in the Netherlands and have a visa which allows them to follow a part-time course.

Applicants from the United Kingdom can check the website of the Dutch government for the most updated information about BREXIT and what this might mean for your status and tuition fee.
